Where to buy Delta Reign, and how to pay less
Which stores sell what at MSRP, how the pre-order went, what similar sets were worth a few months after release, and whether importing the Japanese edition is cheaper.
The short version
1. Try retail on November 6
Big-box stores sell the ETB at $49.99 on release day. Pre-order sellers on TCGplayer want $120.55 today.
2. Don't chase launch-week resale
ETBs from the last three Mega Evolution sets average $92.31 on TCGplayer today, months after release. Launch-week prices are usually the top.
3. Want boxes? Go to a game store
Booster boxes ($159.99 MSRP) are mostly sold by local game stores and hobby shops, not big-box chains.

Lesson from Japan: chase cards fall fast
The Japanese edition came out three months earlier, so it shows what launch hype does to single-card prices. Its top card, Mega Rayquaza ex 113/076 (Mega Ultra Rare):
Release day, July 31, 2026
¥298,000
about $1,880.72 at today's rate
Three weeks later, August 19, 2026
¥135,000
about $852.00 at today's rate
Ten weeks later, October 7, 2026
¥38,000
about $239.82 at today's rate
That's a 87% drop in ten weeks. If you want a specific chase card, buying the single a few weeks after release has usually been cheaper than opening packs for it.

Japanese edition or English?
The Japanese box (Storm Emeralda, M6) has 30 packs of 5 cards; the English box has 36 packs of 10. Here's what each costs you per card once a Japanese box reaches the US. Exchange rate: ECB, 2026-10-14.
Japanese box, landed
$121.03
$70.46 box + $25.00 shipping + $10.57 duty + $15.00 fee
30 packs × 5 cards: $4.03 a pack, $0.81 a card
English box
$249.43
No import costs
36 packs × 10 cards: $6.93 a pack, $0.69 a card
Per card, the English box is 14% cheaper once import costs are added.
Change any number to match your quote. Duty depends on how US Customs classifies the cards; 15% is the US–Japan baseline, and some rulings put trading cards at 0%. Japanese and English cards are different printings and don't play in the same tournaments.
